Current version

Eutepio is at version 0.4.1 (build 19) and runs in open testing on all three platforms — on Google Play for Android, on TestFlight for iPhone and iPad, and as an installer for Windows. You install it yourself, no invitation needed; the links are on the download page.

It still arrives from the store as a test, not as a finished release.

You will find your installation's version in Settings → About.

Releases

0.4.1

Settings in clear sections, and you report a problem straight from the app.

New features

  • Report a problem from the app — in Settings → Help and privacy you describe what went wrong and send it straight to us. You see the whole report in a preview before it leaves: device details can be turned off, and technical diagnostics, a reply address and a screenshot are attached only if you want them. Instead of sending, you can have the message opened in your mail app
  • Rebuilt Settings — everything in named sections instead of one long list
  • My devices (experimental) — your library moves between your phone, tablet and computer directly over the local network. It is off by default and turned on in Settings → Connections and sharing → Experimental features
  • A Windows installer — it installs just for you, with no administrator password, and leaves your library in place through updates and uninstalls

Improvements

  • Attachments reach the band at full quality. Neither PDFs nor photos are downscaled on the way
  • Photos stay original. A camera shot and an image from your computer are both stored as they are; downscaling happens only when you ask for it
  • Update from leader works without the stage open
  • The name in your profile saves without confirming — and survives a restart

Fixes

  • A band session on Android 15 no longer stops after six hours — and it does stop when you close the app
  • Tap targets in Settings are big enough for a finger
  • An empty problem report scrolls to the warning instead of doing nothing
  • The link to the privacy policy opens your browser

Compatibility

  • A backup from 0.4.1 opens in 0.4.0, so you can go back
  • The band works with 0.4.0 — you do not all have to update at once

0.4.0

Send the whole concert as one file.

New features

  • Send concert — pack a setlist, its songs and their attachments into a single file: PDFs, scores, photos and backing tracks. Nothing is downscaled on the way. You send it through the system share sheet, the recipient opens it with a tap and sees a preview of what is inside before adding anything. They pick which library it goes into
  • Follow-up programmes are recognised — send the same concert again with a different running order and the recipient's preview says it follows on from the earlier one
  • A Connect tab — playing with the band and received concerts in one place
  • Attachments straight to a song from other apps — send PDFs, scores and photos into a specific song from whichever app holds them. Android only for now
  • Searching the web for scores, alongside searching for songs

Improvements

  • Web import puts each chord over the right syllable. The notation used to drift away from the lyrics
  • The band metronome lines up with the leader more precisely

0.3.0

The band finally sees what the leader sees.

New features

  • Beta for iPhone and iPad — Eutepio can now be tested on Apple devices too, through TestFlight. Sign up on the beta program page
  • Your own stage cues — cues could always be sent, but the list was baked into the app. Now you write them in Settings → Stage cues, they travel in backups, and at the gig you just tap one

Fixes

  • The song the leader opens goes out immediately. It used to send the next one — so the band never got the first song of the night and it looked like sync was broken. It was not; there was simply nobody to announce that first song
  • The leader can pull an attachment from the band. Offers of scores, PDFs and photos reached them, but their own screen threw the offers away — it reported "nobody in the band has it" when somebody did. The other direction worked all along, which is why it looked random
  • The metronome after the screen wakes. If the phone slept and came back, it fired off every missed beat at once. Now the silence is skipped and the next beat lands on time
  • PDFs and photos next to the stage pane. The page was drawn to the full screen width instead of the column left for it, so it overflowed and you could not scroll to its edges

Improvements

  • You can page through from a song opened straight from the library, even when it is not in a setlist
  • A song with no lyrics shows its attachment on its own, instead of a Show button
  • The Stage button sits at the top of Sync, not under a member list that grows with the band
  • When the leader does not answer, the app says why — and asks about the things that can be checked. Mesh and club networks often stop devices from seeing each other
⚠
Installing this version means you cannot go back to an older one — the database is upgraded. No data is lost, but it is a one-way street.

0.2.8 and 0.2.9

Four builds released close together. They brought three new areas — editing from your computer, layered backing tracks, and a new song editor.

New features

  • Editing from your computer — the phone starts a server and a computer on the same Wi-Fi gets a full editor: song list, syntax highlighting, preview, setlists, attachments, import from a URL or a file, printing. It authenticates with a key from a QR code and nothing leaves your network
  • Layered backing tracks — a song can carry several audio stems, each with its own volume, mute, solo and offset. A click in your in-ears and the mix to the PA, for instance
  • Shared backing transport — one anchor goes over the network, not audio, so everyone keeps their own mix and still runs together
  • Lyrics that follow the recording — instead of a fixed speed the text moves with the position in the track, so scrubbing takes the text with it
  • A song editor like the one on your desktop — syntax highlighting, live preview beside the text, chord suggestions for the key, find and replace, undo and redo, keyboard shortcuts
  • Built-in songbook browser — search nine sources from inside the app, including Ultimate Guitar with its own page reader
  • Share a link from your browser into the app — hit Share → Eutepio in Chrome and the song comes in
  • File import with encoding detection — UTF-8, UTF-16 and Windows-1250, with a preview before anything is saved
  • A pane beside the song on stage — setlist, metronome, MIDI or the pre-gig check next to the lyrics on a tablet or computer. Off by default
  • Setlist identity and merging — when two copies of a setlist drift apart, the app shows what each side has extra and offers a merge instead of a “whose version wins” choice
  • View lock, two pages side by side in landscape, and zoom that survives on PDFs and photos

Improvements

  • The pre-gig check grew to cover muted audio, an empty setlist, songs you cannot play from, and missing durations. A finding can be fixed straight from a button
  • Automatic backup now covers every library, not just the active one
  • Backups carry MIDI commands and backing-track settings — per-song MIDI used to be left out
  • Network discovery slows its own scan down, so it is quieter on the network

Technical changes

  • Upgraded to Flutter 3.47.3
  • Database schema 21

0.2.7

New features

  • A metronome that actually clicks — with sound, a 1, 2 or 4 bar count-in, and synchronisation across the band
  • Chord diagrams — tap a chord to see the shape for guitar, ukulele, bass or piano
  • MIDI input — a pad or button on your controller can drive the app
  • Pre-gig check — the leader asks and the band answers who is missing what
  • Stage cues — "SOLO", "LAST CHORUS", "END" as an overlay on everyone else's screen
  • Automatic daily backup into a folder you choose

Technical changes

  • Upgraded to Flutter 3.47.2

0.2.6

Fixes

  • MIDI output tuning

0.2.5

New features

  • Any key mapped to any action — the pedal learns by press, no more four fixed keys
  • MIDI output — opening a song sends a command to your rig
  • Shelved attachment versions — a new PDF does not delete the old one, it sets it aside

0.2.4

Fixes

  • Fixes from two-device testing

0.2.3

Fixes

  • Fixed attachment sharing between members
  • Fixed library deletion
  • Crash logging on the device

0.2.2

New features

  • Duplicate song detection and merging

0.2.1

New features

  • Session limit raised from 10 to 50 members
  • Attachments available to members, not just the leader

0.2.0

New features

  • Multiple libraries — each band gets its own songs, setlists and attachments

0.1.0

The first version uploaded to internal and then closed testing. It shipped local WiFi sync, the ChordPro editor, transposition, auto-scroll, OCR, annotations, backups and stage themes.

Before the first release

Before the first version shipped, mDNS sync, the .eutbackup format, search operators, SongBook Pro import, member-to-member attachment sharing, OCR scanning and stage themes came together.
